Our client operates a chain of Tile and Bathroom-ware stores.
Our client was using software that did not allow consolidation of information and
did not report on a real-time basis. Our client realised that the level of control
they needed did not exist in any available affordable retail system so they commissioned
BaySoft to write a web based system from scratch.
An ambitious project at the time but the end result has delivered a retail system
unlike no other in existence in the UK. The system resides on servers owned by the
business and is distributed to each branch by means of secure Internet access. An
inexpensive solution as far as running costs are concerned.
The main warehouse operation manages the input of delivery and despatch of goods-inwards
from the suppliers and outwards to the stores and other wholesale customers.
Transfers to each store, stock enquiries inter-store transfer requests, special
customer
pricing management and separate processing and management of trade, retail and
online
sales transactions with full discount structure management was facilitated seamlessly.
The most powerful aspect of the system is that it delivers real-time sales and profit
reporting. As soon as an invoice is raised in any store it is visible in head office
and margins are reported there and then... No more waiting until the end of the
week for branch return reporting.
The system also benefits from being able to provide full management of 3 customer
facing websites without having to maintain an extra stock product file for web-prices
and image uploading. It's all facilitated through the business accounting product
file as standard.
